Trekking through green valleys, snowy passes, unique and cultural villages is fun way to travel. From camping in alpine meadows to the desert-like environs of Samye Monastery, not to mention visiting yak pastures along the way. En route, near the passes, are secluded valleys whose only inhabitants are the high altitude nomads and their yaks. This pilgrimage route is convenient to combine with a visit to Ganden, the principal monastery of Gelukpa and Samye, Tibet's first monastery ever built in Tibet.
