Steps to making the perfect, egg roll in a bowl:

This recipe is so easy to throw together. It only has a few simple ingredients and tastes amazing. I love the freshness of this recipe, and there is no deep frying involved so it leaves you feeling refreshed, yet full.

I used ground chicken for this recipe, but you could easily switch it out for ground beef, ground turkey or a sausage.

I just used a bag of cole slaw for this recipe. It had a few radishes in it, and carrots, but you could also use a bag without it.

I topped mine off with a few green onions, but you could also use some red onion, sesame seeds, or chow mien noodles.

So when you say raw Cole slaw, is that basically just cabbage? I've never bought Cole slaw before. 😄 Does it have dressing or anything else on it or just the veggies?

  2. Cyd says:

You can buy bagged Cole slaw in the produce department at your local grocery store.

  3. Lynnette Drusell says:

Looks delicious! Is this best served warm or cold? What’s the best way to store leftovers?

  4. Cyd says:

We like to serve this warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container.

  5. JK says:

This is a good recipe as-is but I felt like it was missing something. It then occurred to me that there was no ginger or garlic - both musts in Asian cooking. Add those two ingredients and maybe swap out the black pepper for white and it’s perfect!

  6. DJ says:

I made this with ground turkey, and we loved it! Served it with brown rice and additional soy sauce. Will definitely make it again.

  7. CindyLW says:

I made the recipe as stated but did not have sesame oil, so added sesame seeds. Also added chopped sugar snap peas. Was very good! Will try again, adding other veggies as suggested next time.

I use breakfast sausage, and also add ginger and garlic. It’s worth using these extra ingredients. So much tastier!
