I would like to thank the Lee County Government Board of County Commissioners for their proclamation recognizing Thursday, April 18, 2024, as “Lineman Appreciation Day in Lee County.”The Proclamation recognizes that "Lee County is served by Duke Energy Corporation and Central Electric Membership Corporation line workers, and, especially during major storms, these line workers work in dangerous conditions to repair broken power lines and equipment; and WHEREAS, electric line workers often are the first responders during storms, whose work is critical to making the damaged area safe for other public safety heroes." #ThankALineWorker

Spent this Saturday morning with the #N4CSGA, the student leadership of the North Carolina Community College System …Board Chair Thomas F Looney delivered an inspiring presentation on where the system is headed and how the student voice is the guidance for the system. I had the honor of moderating a panel on leadership and overcoming adversity featuring former N4CSGA Presidents LaTasha Bradford, RN, BA, Kirsten Stovall and Community College Alumni Jonathan Harris and Gilbert Umberger …so many important messages were shared but one that stayed with me was “Failure is not Fatal” it’s how you learn from it that matters.Left this conference fully understanding why as Tom Looney says, The North Carolina Community College System is the most important organization in this state
