Recently, students in the Building and Construction Trades program competed in the Gexpro Classic, an electrical wiring event hosted by our close partner Gexpro. 💡 Not only did the winners receive prizes, but through donations, the entire program received brand new trainers, complete with panels, devices, and boxes for students to learn on! For the last few months, Paramedic Instructors Ron Calabro and Emily James have been hard at work training an in-house first response team of EMTs for New Indy in Catawba. The first response team exists to provide dependable and professional first aid, in the event of an incident, before EMS arrives. After this training, all seven employees in the class will be certified EMTs, able to provide life saving care if necessary. 🚑 We are grateful for the opportunity to provide this training to New Indy, and we are proud of our top-notch instructors in this important program!Interested in becoming an EMT? The SkillsUSA State Competition wrapped up this week, and we are proud to share that the York Technical College team swept the field in 10 different competitions! 🏆Last year, we brought home two gold medals in CNC Milling. This year, in a dominating performance, our students took home 14 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze, with 17 of 31 students making the podium. 🥇🥈🥉For the full story, visit: https://loom.ly/oIRwAuI
